Book off to printers so in meantime here is pdf of whole book. This summarises the outputs of the multiple discussions from the past 12 months and hopefully provides a unique view of the next 10 years for you to use.

Book all Ready

Taken a while but final edits to book now all done and ready for printing. Has been a big project but from feedback on beta website and pdf of book, most people seem to think we have made a step forward on what has gone before. Certainly we are inundated with requests to share the insights and I seem to be in a different location talking through some of the issues every week between now and Christmas - Manchester and Ireland next week, Singapore week after, then Cambridge and Reading, then Delhi and finally Turkey... lets see how people react.

Future Agenda Turkey

Back in Turkey for second time in past two weeks: Ahead of the rest of the world, Vodafone Turkey has launched its own version of the Future Agenda programme today in Istanbul. To kick start the programme fourteen business leaders have contributed their views on topics ranging from the future of currency, future of air travel and future of education through to more specific issues such as mass medical tourism, electric mobility, migration magnets, water management and live experiences.

A dedicated website (www.gelecekgundemde.org) is sharing the initial views and, as the programme goes forward, will act as a focus for new insights from the events and discussions taking place over the next months. All initial perspectives were filmed and samples of the interviews are included on the www.gelecekgundemde.org homepage. Lots of enthusiasm for taking the global insights and building on them to help define a future vision for Turkey. No doubt more news to follow..

Sharing Synthesis

Now that the majority of synthesis is underway, we have around 60 insights on 2020 emerging on the world in 2020 that will be used in the book and on the new website. To share early and gain any additional feedback, these are being posted on the core future agenda site over the next two months. They give a taste of what it to come but also provide the opportunity for final tweaks and edits. First one on Mass Medical Tourism has just been posted.

Section 3 of book - Moderators of the Future

Now that most of material for the core future insights element of the book (and new website) from the workshops are now complete, attention has shifted on to section 3 - the moderators of the future. Interesting research being supported by Dave McCormick as we build a clearer view. What started out as 4 issues (privacy, trust, influence and global / local) now focused on two dimensions of change. First draft of this section aiming for completion mid July so feedback possible from extended team ahead of publication.

Taking things forward with British Council

Very good chat this afternoon with British Council on how the output from the Future Agenda programme can be used as part of stimulus for a new Global Innovation Lab. Next update on this in July but looks great platform for future innovation around the world.

Water and Waste in Mumbai

Another really good event in Mumbai this morning at the British Council. Future of Water and Future of Waste both discussed through the India lens and a lot of interesting perspectives added into the mix. Ranging from the efficiency of domestic recycling today in India to the challenges of agricultural water use, a host of points to complement others gained from Australia, Singapore, the US and Europe. All being written up as we speak so available to share shortly. Heading back to UK tonight and back into ongoing synthesis.

Future of Cities in Mumbai

Really good session this morning bringing together 20 "Mumbaikers" to discuss the Mumbai take on the future of cities. Clearly already one of the most densely populated city around, the challenges and opportunities for change were widely discussed. A great group of people with really passionate informed views. Hosted very kindly by the British Council. Write up underway.

Urban Transport

Excellent event yesterday in Delhi on the future of urban transport. Challenged some of the other views gained from the US, London and Brussels events but also agreed with a number of issues. Brilliant organisation by Mirabilis Advisory. Now in Mumbai preparing for two more events tomorrow and Friday.
